Roberto Bolaño

Roberto Bolaño Avalos was born in Santiago, Chile on 28 April 1953. He was a Chilean novelist, short-story writer, poet and essaylist.,  Bolaño's death in 15 July 2003 came after a long period of declining health. He suffered from liver failure and had been on a liver transplant waiting list while working on 2666, and was near the top at the time of his death.
